Referral Letters

June 4, 2009 by quality1stken

Here are two letters I received from customers after their jobs were installed.

My experience with you and Quality 1st was great.  You and the other staff were very professional and explained well what was needed and how you go about doing it.  The men who did the job came on time and were effecient.  Even though I had a couple of concerns after the work was finished.  You addressed the appropriately and in a timely manner.  Thank you for a job well done!

Hi Ken,

I am writing to let you know that I am completely satisfied with the installation of your basement dehumidifier.  Your crew showed up on time and worked tirelessly untill the job was completed.  After completion, they cleaned up and left the basement spotless.

Crawlspaces In New Jersey

April 23, 2009 by quality1stken

My name is Ken Peare and I work for Quality 1st basement systems. We are part of a network of dealers that make up the biggest basement and crawlspace repair company in the world !! Today I want to talk about crawlspaces. For those of you who don’t know what a crawlspace is or have never seen one, a crawlspace is an area under a building that can be anywhere from about a foot deep to 5-6 feet deep. Crawlspaces are commonly found in a few specific situations. If the construction is near bodies of water where the water table is too high to have a full basement. Crawlspaces are also very common under additions to existing structures. There is a lot less construction and it is a lot less expensive to build a crawlspace as opposed to basement. What people don’t realize is that crawlspaces are just a susceptible to water infiltration as a normal basement, and being that you probably don’t go into your crawlspace much, you are way less likely to even notice. If you do have a crawlspace it would behoove you to have a professional like myself out to inspect it. Some common signs that your crawlspace has a water or dampness issue are smells upstairs, cold floors, the insulation in the crawlspace has fallen or is starting to sag, and many more. It is very important to address these issues because the fact that all of your major supports and floor joists for your house are only a few feet away from all of this dampness. This can lead to things like sagging floors, and failing joists. Being that the relative humidity in crawlspaces is high, it makes a perfect place for mold and mildew to grow. My companies solution to this is a product called cleanspace. It can be found on our website www.Quality1stBasementSystems.com

Apples to Apples

December 3, 2008 by quality1stken

As they say, you cant compare Apples to Apples, and in the basement waterproofing industry that statement means alot to us.  I have gone to many appointments where people think all they need is any pipe and pump and it will solve your problem, but its not that simple.  We don’t use duct tape to cover a cut instead of a Band-Aid even though they both “cover” the wound.  The same goes with basement waterproofing but the difference is not how it can do its one basic job but how it can handle the extreme or odd situations and stand the test of time.  Any old pipe and pump will most likely handle the first few years of water under normal situations but what happens once the pipe becomes silted with mud? Or if the power goes out? What happens if the water is shooting out of the wall with some velocity during extra heavy rains? In those extreme rains what happens if your sump pump can not keep up with the amount of water coming in? These are a few questions I ask the home owners when they so they are using random company X with random pipes and pump “JUST LIKE OURS”.  And more often then not they can not answer these simple but important questions because random company X never addressed them.  So in the end I like to make sure I have educated the home owner enough in basement waterproofing that they know what question they need to ask to make sure they get the best possible systems at the best price to keep their basement dry, and keep it dry all the time for years to come.  If you would like us to come show you all that we have to offer here at Quality 1st Basement Systems just give us a call at 1800-290-2930 and we will gladly set you up with a free basement waterproofing estimate.

Letter From my Customer

October 13, 2008 by quality1stken

Our experience with Quality 1st basement systems has been very positive. I found out about the company online and was able to schedule an appointment right away. Even though information was available online, I still received a packet in the mail with information about your products, and detailed descriptions of the options, which was very helpful.

Ken Peare called to introduce himself and confirm our appointment at my house, which I greatly appreciated.  Ken assessed our basement system needs and walked me through the step by step program to determine what options would work best in our home.  The computer simulation helped us see how the system would function and Ken was able to answer any questions.

As we placed our order, we Ken provided advice without pushing us towards products we did not need. He explained how we could add on to the system in the future, but did not pressure us to purchase beyond what was appropriate for our basement.

The installation process was quick and smooth- paperwork was sent beforehand and all questions were answered.  Ken even came out to the house again to make sure we did the right prep in the basement.  The team that installed the system was similarly professional, checking in with us throughout the day and always running things by us before moving forward with the work.  When I had questions a few days later, I received a phone call, email follow up and even a home visit to make sure everything was in working order.

All in all, we are very happy that we made the decision to work with Quality 1st Basement Systems.  Most importantly, we have had a dry basement since the installation!

Saving the day

September 11, 2008 by quality1stken

Well on monday I had a nice busy day i ran two appointments and then headed back to the office to do some follow up calls.  On my way back to the office I drove past a house and I could see them carrying a rolled up carpet out to the curb.  I  kept driving but then i thought hmmmm they are probly taking that carpet up from the basement since it got flooded maybe I should see if they are having a problem in thier basement.  I drove back around and now they were taking up brown boxes to the curb and I know right there what had happened.  I introduced myself and told them i worked with Quality 1st Basement Systems,  In the end I stayed there for 3 hours and next thursday they are getting their basement waterproofed.  If you would rather find us insted of waiting for us to find you just give us a call at 1800-290-2930 or visit on the web for your FREE Basement Waterproofing Estimate

SaniDry Power

July 18, 2008 by quality1stken

A lot of customers lately have asked what type of dehumidifier to use in their basement. I normally see a one room dehumidifier that can cost anywhere between $300-$900. Most are purchased from home depot or loews and are thrown in the basement and home owners are forced to empty them on a regular basis…if they don’t…the machine stops running or leaks onto the floor. The answer to all of there problems is the SaniDry Basement Air System. It will take 100 pints of water out per day (over double the other ones) and drain itself! It has a Merv 11 filter which will take out mold spores, dust mite droppings, odors and other household allergens. It’s an amazing machine that costs 3 times less than the other ones to run! Over time the SaniDry pays for itself! If you have any questions call 1800-290-2930 and ask for Dan Aka The Super Dry SaniDry Man

Floodring is King

June 30, 2008 by quality1stken

At Quality 1st Basement Systems our work speaks for itself, we install great products with great results. Though some things are out of our hands, such as hot water heaters. This tanks hold a LOT of water and when they go bad they can really drop a ton of water in your basement. Yes, this water will still naturally flow to the sump since it is in the lowest spot of the basement but that mean be on the opposite side as the hot water heater. I know i wouldn’t want that water running across my basement floor, what we can do to stop this is one simple product. The FloodRing will make this disaster much much less painful, in fact there will be no water on your floor at all. With our FloodRing in place any of the water that spills out of your hot water tank will be kept inside the FloodRing and then drained directly into your perimeter drainage systems where the sump pump will take it right out. This simple product will save you a large headache when your hot water heater decides to go. If you would like your Free basement waterproofing estimate in New Jersey just give us a call at 1800-290-2930.

WATERGUARD IOS & TRIPLESAFE COMES IN HANDY WITH BIG RAIN

May 28, 2008 by quality1stken

Recently we had downpour in central Jersey. I say BIG rain because it has been unusually dry for this time of year. At a recent appointment of mine I recommended the WaterGuard IOS system to replace there existing 4in PVC that had been clogged over the years by Iron Ochre and other soil deposits. The homeowner was skeptical at first, but knew that the Iron Ochre problem would not be solved without a solution made for waterproofing an Iron Ochre problematic basement. The unique design was like nothing she had ever seen but after much thought decided to move forward with the project and also installed our patented TripleSafe sump pump.

Well a few weeks had gone by with very little rain and then BAM! We were hit with that intense period of rain, which in her own words “Would have flooded my basement!” The TripleSafe with over 6,000 gallons of pumping power per hr saved the day. And as for her iron ochre problem…it wont be an issue anymore. The WaterGuard IOS is a fully serviceable system that can be kept free of iron ochre or anything else that may wash in. If anyone has any questions about the WaterGuard IOS or the TripleSafe please feel free to contact me.
